What is Adoption All About
When you adopt from Hearts 4 Paws, you are rescuing a dog that would otherwise be homeless, abandoned, even euthanized. By providing a home to an animal, in return you receive love, companionship, and the responsibility to care for another life.
Hearts 4 Paws rescues adoptable dogs from local shelters and temporarily places them in foster homes until a “forever home” is found. Before any adoptions occur, all potential adopters go through an application process.
Application
The first step for the potential adopter is to complete an application which provides valuable information used to determine if it’s a good fit for both the dog and the family. If the application is approved, the adopter next signs a contract.
Contract
The contract states that the adopter takes responsibility for the dog’s care. If in the future the adopter is unable to keep the dog, the dog must be returned to Hearts 4 Paws, where every effort will be made to find another home.
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees cover the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and necessary medical care while the dog is being fostered. Since Hearts 4 Paws is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, the adoption fee allows Hearts 4 Paws to continue its mission of saving more adoptable dogs and placing them in forever homes.
Hearts 4 Paws takes great pride in providing suitable, loving homes for its animals. We believe that rescuing dogs is an important effort that saves dogs and provides love and comfort to the humans who are lucky enough to share their lives with them.
